this is a memorial portrait of my cousin's dog. i really struggled with the background. i finally came up with something similar as 'blue', then i realized what i'd done. my cousin is a hockey player, and the background makes the dog look like a mascot, i think. had i been thinking clearly at the beginning, i would've run with that and made the depiction of the dog more graphic...next time i guess.

welcome.
i'm edi. thank you for visiting. i love all kinds of beasts. i love the quirky relationships that people have with their beastly companions. i love to draw and paint these companions and try to capture their unique personalities in the process. i think it's important to honor our companions with loving portraits. i work in graphite, charcoal, watercolor, marker, collage, crayon...pretty much everything but acrylic (yuck) and oil (no longer, see the disclaimer).
disclaimer
though i'm not offering oil paintings anymore, i've included examples of them to show different concept ideas, different beasts, etc. i considered not including them at all, as they are the most impressive and eye-catching, but think, conceptually, they're worth a look.i apologize for getting any hopes up. i work in oil no more.
that's not entirely true. i WILL do oil. for $1,000,000. and i'll get it to you in 10 years. minimum.
